It is a real adventure when you come to this village, where approximately 5,000 people living scattered around in the bush, where there are no roads, electricity, telephone or water and the land is of limited use for agriculture because of landmine contamination. Insofar it is so important, that with our help to help-yourself the people get out of this trap.

Since 2011 Care for Kids provides the annual funds for the nutrition for about 400 children. With 48 € a child can get a whole year a nutritious corn-soja meal at the school. Our delegation got confirmed that JAM (Joint Aid Management) organizes the supply, distribution and monitoring of the use of this food excellently. Through the commitment of teachers, parents and local government, food preparation is managed at the school. Everything is carefully recorded in diaries and is available to JAM.

This school feeding is an educational program in the true sense. Since it is offered at the school, the number of students and the reliability of the school attendance grows continuously. In order to motivate the parents, to send their girls to school, the attending girls can take a small portion of porridge for the siblings back home.

Our visit was for the whole village a great event where we were welcomed with a personally dedicated song in Portuguese "Obrigado, Escola Nostra". With wide eyes, the children accepted from the strangers the filled "Red Bowl" and proudly showed us their school. Unfortunately, well drillings at this location so far have not been unsuccessful, but we will again make another trial next year.
