Tsunami Aid Sri Lanka 2005
At Christmas 2004, the coasts of south-east Asia were struck by a flood disaster of unimagined proportions. M+W Zander reacted immediately: a village in Batticaloa on the west coast of Sri Lanka was given direct support by donations from staff and management. A staff member of Sri Lankan origin procured and distributed food and other aid material on the spot. From this extremely personal and spontaneous aid action, there arose a wish for a long-term commitment to come to the assistance of people in need. To put this into practice, we want to focus our help on children and young people. This was how we came to set up "care for kids", a society to support children and young people. Because ...
"The way children experience the world is the way they will confront the world as adults."
